Durability

Australia has a very demanding climate and environmental conditions, due the combination of high solar-radiation, high temperature and strong winds. This prompts extending the life-span of bird netting is an important and crucial feature which Monbulk Rural Enterprises’ Drape Over Bird Net combats. Our drape over bird net is manufactured with Hindered Amine Light Stabilisers (HALS) additives, otherwise known as UV stabilisers. It’s important that these HALS are added at a correct time during the thread extruding process, as well as at the correct ratio, so not to compromise the thread strength. Monbulk Rural Enterprises are in direct contact with our Korean manufacturer, ensuring these features are met.

Strength

The viticulture industry has long been given the false impression that increased net weight relates to increased strength. This is only partially true, as the need for quality virgin high density polyethylene monofilament and correct ratio HALS (as stated above).

Colour

Generally white is the most common and preferred colour, as the shade factor is approximately 7%, compared to 10% for black. Therefore, white provide improved growth and photosynthesis active radiation (PAR), resulting in improved brix levels in the fruit, compared to 9% for black.

Other Features

Our drape over bird net has reinforced salvage's, providing easier handling on installation and retrieval. A coloured centre line provides the correct alignment and row centering installing.
